Phlox and Tulips, Tulips and Phlox

Waiting on a phone call,  I grabbed the camera and stepped out for a moment.

From the driveway leading into the back yard you are greeted by some creeping phlox and a mile marker.

Two or three more paces are these enormous tulips. The big ones are 30 inches tall!

A closer look reveals a thin red edging, subtle yet striking.

Then the phone rang and I had to run out. I'm waiting for rain so I can have softer earth for tomorrow's excavation.

Until next time, Keep Digging & Eat Well!

  1. Those tulips look smashing, David. I never grow tall ones like that because I find that the wind normally demolishes them. I grow dwarf ones instead.
